Caregiver Role

The practical nurse graduate is prepared to:

  • Base practice on knowledge acquired from nursing, science and the humanities
  • Collaborate with the client and other members of the health care team in providing client care

Advocacy Role

The practical nurse graduate is prepared to:

  • Act as an advocate for the client by collaborating with other members of the health care team
  • Advocate for healthy public policy
  • Facilitate partnerships with clients and team members

Professional Role

The practical nurse graduate is prepared to:

  • Assume a leadership role that facilitates and enhances delivery of client care
  • Assume responsibility for maintaining competency and fitness to practice
  • Adhere to ethical/legal obligations for practice
